Ever wondered about the future of commerce? As we start moving past the era of popular shopping websites like Shopee and Lazada, we believe it’s looking a lot like social commerce.
I think a little background helps. Prior to starting Ejenkita, I became one of Malaysia's many social resellers - close to 7 months now, from around December 2020. It has helped me a lot financially as I was making close to RM1,000 in extra income; selling healthy snacks for a brand (@tempe.my) to officemates, friends, and family.
It has been a great run so far, and I wish more people would be open to reselling. Part of Ejenkita’s mission is to make that wish come true.
Faris and I figured that on top of the platform we are currently building, we also need a way to regularly reach out and connect with the Malaysian community.
We know there are people out there who can benefit from the valuable lessons we (will soon) learn throughout our journey. It could either be tackling tech issues, people problems, or simply a collection of sales and marketing tips we gain from talented people we cross paths with.
This blog will also work as an announcement board for sharing any major updates we plan to roll out on our platform. Through engagement with the community, we can gather feedback and iterate the development of the platform as needed.
Some features may not work out the way people want it to, so we need open communication to be able to work on that. We believe that this is the best way to build something people truly love and can benefit from.
For now, there will be monthly updates that are shared in a simple format:
- Accomplishments in the past month
- Our goals for the next month
What we gain from this is (1) transparency on our goals, both for ourselves and the community; and (2) accountability, which pushes us to be more thoughtful about what we spell out.
We will definitely post relevant highlights and other matters of interest too. Rest assured, subscribe to our blog and you will always be notified if there’s an update.
Bye and see you in the next post :)
